Promise Fellow Position at the Mentoring Partnership

The Mentoring Partnership is currently recruiting an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow for the 2008 - 2009 program year.  This position supports MPM’s role in the Statewide Partner Network of the Minnesota Alliance with Youth by providing training, tools and technical assistance to school and community-based mentoring programs across the state.  This year’s MPM Promise Fellow will also undertake exciting new responsibilities, including leadership of the “Map the Gap” initiative, work with the Executive Youth Board, and development of alliances to promote mentoring as a positive youth development strategy.

The Mentoring Partnership Promise Fellow position begins on August 15th, 2008, and runs through August 31st, 2009; Fellows provide 1700 hours of service during this time.  This full-time position is supported by a $12,000 annual living allowance and health insurance.  Fellows are eligible for student loan deferment and an education award of $4,725 after successfully completing requirements.

Details about the position are available through the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits online Job Search page (www.mncn.org/jobs), in the General category, or the AmeriCorps website http://www.americorps.gov, where candidates can apply online.  Please share this opportunity with anyone you know who may be interested in gaining skills and experience in the nonprofit world – especially your mentors!  The application period for the MPM position closes in late July.  For more information on the position, contact Polly Roach at (612) 370-9119 or pollyr@mentoringworks.org.
