Success Through Adults Reaching Students (STARS)

We empower youth to achieve their full potential and make healthy decisions through mentoring. Our primary focus is facilitating mentoring relationships between youth, 7 to 16, and caring adult volunteers willing to commit to meeting frequently and consistently for a minimum of one year. Most relationships are one-to-one but we do allow couples to mentor as a team. We provide ongoing training and support for mentors. Matches are made according to gender, location, backgrounds, and similar interests. Mentors and mentees are free to plan their own safe and wholesome activities with parental approval. Group activities such as field trips and community service are offered occasionally. STARS also works with school officials to offer training and support to high school youth who mentor elementary students at school during the school day.
