Summer Institute 0n Youth Mentoring - Portland State University presents the 2008 Summer Institute on Youth Mentoring July 28 – August 1. The Summer Institute offers an intensive week-long seminar presenting the latest developments in theory and research for experienced mentoring professionals. The sessions are led by prominent, nationally recognized research fellows, including Jean Grossman, Michael Karcher, Laurie Powers, and Bernadette Sanchez.

Art Heals on Hennepin - April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and to create awareness, children from domestic abuse shelters and treatment centers worked with Free Arts Minnesota volunteer mentors on 19 large Metro Murals on exhibit at rotating bus shelter displays until May 1st along Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis. During a kickoff presentation in support of their work healing kids through art and mentoring, Mayor R.T. Kids ‘n Kinship Award Winner -Kids 'n Kinship of Apple Valley is proud to announce that long-time mentor Mike Zenner has been selected as the 2008 recipient of the Hands On Twin Cities Be the Change Award.
